Een tijd geleden maakten we al een mooi overzicht van awaydays door de Katwijkse clubs. Met hun grote achterban zijn ze eraan gewend om dit soort bezoekjes gevoelsmatig om te draaien tot een thuiswedstrijd. Voor de opener van een nieuw seizoen in de Tweede Divisie kwamen de supporters van Quick Boys op bezoek in het Gelderse Tiel, bij TEC. Ook nu was het weer een blauw-witte invasie!
SV TEC heeft zichzelf in het afgelopen decennium in razend tempo ontwikkeld tot een grote naam in het amateurvoetbal. In 2011 speelde de club nog in de Derde Klasse, maar deze zomer begint de Tielse SV voor de zesde maal in de afgelopen zeven jaar aan een seizoen Tweede Divisie-voetbal. Zeer knap voor een stad met een kleine 40.000 inwoners, die vooral bekend staat als de geboorteplaats van het stripboekenfiguur Flipje. Qua achterban doet de Tielse Eendracht Combinatie natuurlijk onder voor amateurgiganten zoals Quick Boys, maar ook in Tiel is er goede groep fanatieke supporters.
Dubbeldekkers
Vandaag zijn de fanatieke supporters van Quick Boys met twee dubbeldekkers richting Tiel getrokken. Meer dan 100 fanatieke supporters vullen de korte zijde achter het ene doel. Een minimaal net zo grote groep heeft in losse auto’s de reis van meer dan een uur richting de voormalig Hanzestad in Gelderland gemaakt. Bij de opkomst zwaaien de supporters met enkele grote vlaggen, terwijl er confettislierten door de lucht knallen. Buiten het sportpark gaat er wat siervuurwerk af, terwijl het vak achter het doel zich vult met witte rook. Ook aan Tielse zijde worden er een paar rookpotten afgestoken.

The highlight of the first half is also a heated discussion between the Quick Boys keeper and a TEC attacker about an alleged penalty. The referee chooses the side of the keeper: Schwalbe!

In the second half, the blue and white whole moves to the other side to stay close to the attacks of their own team. And there are more than enough. The entire second half is a big attack wave from Quick Boys, where attack after attack goes wrong. It was only in the 73rd minute that it was finally hit after a header from striker Van den Meiracker.
Ten minutes after the equalizer, Quick Boys also takes the lead and in stoppage time the liberating 3-1 falls. This way the visiting supporters can still go out three times and the first victory is in the pocket. A flying start to the season for the Blue and White Narren from Kattuk South. The starting shot for another Second Division season full of beautiful away days!
